History
FiSCA was conceived in December 2005 by Chris Blake and commenced trading on the 3rd July, 2006. The intention for FiSCA was to provide an on-line service to building professionals for the procurement of Fire Safety Certificates. The service has now been extended to include the procurement of Disability Access Certificates, since their inception at the beginning of 2010 and some other architectural services aimed at the profession. FiSCA has now been trading successfully for the past five years or so.
Chris qualified with a degree in Industrial Design from NCAD and NIHE Limerick in 1992. Prior to his studies in Industrial Design, Chris worked on a part-time basis, intermittently for an architectural practice, Sheehan + Barry Architects in Ranelagh, Dublin. Chris then worked in a full-time position with the same practice from October 1991 to October 1999. His duties in that office included the preparation of Fire Safety Certificate applications. Chris then moved to another architectural practice, John Halligan Architects, based in Charlestown, Co. Mayo. The second practice had a high volume of commercial projects, all of which required Fire Safety Certificates which Chris prepared as well.
This experience lead Chris to the belief that he could commence trading, undertaking this type of work. His belief has shown itself to be correct. Chris feels that this positive outcome has come about as a direct result of the reliable and economic service that he is offering through FiSCA. Certainly, there is a large number of small professional practices giving FiSCA repeat business.
FiSCA aims to provide an economic, professional, nationwide service. It really doesn’t matter whether you’re in Kerry, Waterford, Louth, Donegal or three doors down the street from it’s offices. FiSCA is based in the countryside of County Sligo, milliseconds away from your send button. 99% of the time, Chris is available to talk with you if you have anything you need to discuss with him most of the time. Certainly, you won’t find him trying to avoid your calls.
Lastly, FiSCA is a member of the National Fire Protection Association, has Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance. FiSCA is Vat registered and has C2 Tax Clearance Certificate. All available for inspection upon request.
